"Bullitt Ride" (yesterdayknight)

A local photographer cut together this clip from a couple of auto-x (or autoslalom whichever you call it) events with the local BMW club from last season. It's très cool to see your own car from a 3rd person perspective through a corner in slow motion...
Here's the clip I pulled it from:
The snow is finally starting to melt. A new season of autoslalom is upon us.
*In Borat voice* I am very excite!

That lift throttle oversteer is purdy. Must be a pretty light one because the stock-er ones stay pretty squat unless they have power.

Wow! It's making a great sound, love the little burbles from the rev match.

Well my pants just got a little tighter, and I'm not eating or drinking anything. The want for an E46 M3 is very high right now

Nice 360 from the 135i at 1:15. I did the same thing in mine! Must be the car's fault...

That corner was actually fairly tight. I would have been backing it in with some trail braking there. I have a pretty stiff suspension set-up in the car for track usage, it definitely keeps the car pretty neutral. Still have the stock sway bars though, I haven't gotten around to playing with those yet.

Thanks! Those were just some burbles on the overrun. With my current tune it likes to do that on the top end. By the end of the day I was barely lifting while going through the chicane. It was just a bit scary at first hucking it through the chicane because of the concrete wall, there was the potential to get it wrong and end up heading towards the wall at about 110km/h

Yeah it's easy to see that trail brake weight transfer in slow motion. Well done!

Poor E46 drivers. such an awesome autocross car if they actually had proper suspension geometry setups. if not, theyre screwed. One car that can really be made *perfect* with camber plates, LCAs, and a corner balance

He was hooning pretty hard that run. It's a good display of vehicle dynamics when you get too much rotational momentum going through a slalom but keep pushing, there's only so much space between the pylons so unless you slow down and allow the car to catch up it can become quite the handful as shown here.

Our local autoslalom isn't typically host to a large number of super serious competitors (i.e. people building cars specifically for a certain class to the limits of the SCCA regulations) so it's not the best example, but for the past few years that blue E46 330ci seen in the video has finished 1st overall a couple times. His basic mods don't bump his PAX and he's a good driver. The guys in the quick cars (myself included) are PAX'd hard because of our mods so usually it ends up being pretty close.
